We love celebrating love with you in the traditional sense, with an alterations project well done. But we love all the tiny, hard-to-see details and unexpected luxury details the most. It’s the moments and pieces of creativity and deep intentionality within wedding planning that really speak to our inner romantics. We’re honored to be part of your love story in whatever creative capacity you need. Below are a list of our favorite creative detail projects.

Scrunchies

Upcycling and sustainability are important to us! Scrunchies are a great way to utilize scraps from your hem. They can be made in a variety of sizes from thick and fluffy to finer and more delicate, and even super puffy. Depending on the unique features of your gown we can make matching identical scrunchies for bridal parties, or sets of unique individual scrunchies if you plan to keep them for yourself.

Not only are they a great piece of memorabilia for your wedding, especially if you don’t plan on keeping your dress long-term. But they also make great gifts for bridesmaids and flower-girls.

Bows

We love making memorabilia hair bows! This is a great use of scrap fabric from most parts of your dress and can be dressed up with applique, and other features from your dress. They can be made into both hair-tie and hair-clip varieties anywhere from big to little.

Like scrunchies, these are great ways to remember your dress, but also great gifts for bridal parties, or heirloom gifts for kids and relatives.

Dog Collars

If you plan on having your fur-baby be a part of your day, custom dog collars are a great way to make sure that your furred friend looks just as dapper as the rest of your bridal party, while effortlessly matching your bridal style (plus it looks super cute in photography).

Dog collars can be styled from a number of different elements of your gown and can be done in traditional bridal white, but are also a great way to incorporate some of your accent colors, its also a fun way to repurpose scraps of any 3D elements of your gown.

Garters

We make a variety of garters from scraps and clippings in the studio as part of our personal mission to reduce fabric waste in our industry. However, we also love custom and one-of-a-kind garter design projects.

This is another great way to use dress scraps in a way that can be passed down as an heirloom piece. Garters are also one of those nitty gritty wedding details that add a vintage sweet and sultry flare and fun prop opportunities for bridal pictures.

Handfasting Chords

Handfasting is a beautiful tradition, and if you’re going with the slightly modernized version of the practice, it can be a great way to show your unique personality as a couple. Handfasting chords have endless creative possibilities and can be made in almost any color, or with fun patterns, and with many different styles, accents, and accessories.

Give us a theme or style, or bring a fabric you’ve picked out. Feel free to bring any accents, charms, or other bits and bobs you’d like to incorporate. We’ve done everything from Dia De Los Muertos and Halloween to D&D, and Forest Fairytale themed. Capes

Not a veil bride? We got your back- literally. Capes are a great way to show personal style. Ranging from vintage-glamorous to forest fairytale and Norse mythology there are so many options for capes. Hooded. Not hooded. Shoulder caplets. Brooch style. Lace. Velvet. Satin. The possibilities are endless. While capes can be possible for all seasons, we think they are especially stunning for fall and winter weddings.

Veil Restyling

Something old and something new at the same time. In addition to all of our signature Starling Creations veils- we also offer veil restyling services. Sometimes this is just a matter of updating or repairing elements like the comb or hardware. Other times brides will want to take applique or design elements from a loved one’s veil and incorporate them into something more modern, or closer to their own personal style.

Toppers

Wraps, bolero’s, shrugs, you name it. Overlayers and toppers are not only a great way to get multiple looks without committing to multiple dresses, but also an excellent way to outsmart the weather in the Pacific Northwest without giving up your “bridal look”.
